Without delay, the members decided to move forward. Some members loaned money to the extent, and a committee was formed to explore the possibility of purchasing a used fire truck. The first fire truck was acquired from the Livingston Fire Company by December 1935. The Morris Plains Fire Association provided fire rings to summon members to a fire. In those early days, meetings were held at the homes of Mr. Peter Yeager and Mr. Edward Flanagan on Centerton Drive. Later, the Lake Parsippany Property Owners Association Clubhouse became available for meetings. The next challenge was to find a suitable place to house the fire truck. Land was purchased from the New York Daily Mirror, and construction on the firehouse began in August 1936. Within a year of its organization, with the help of dances, raffles, and generous donors, it had become a full-fledged fire department. Shortly after our first anniversary in December 1936, we welcomed a valuable addition: the Ladies Auxiliary of the Lake Parsippany Volunteer Fire Company. They did incredible work, and much of our progress is thanks to their ongoing efforts and support. Words cannot express how grateful we are for the many nights they offered hot coffee in freezing weather while members fought fires. Buy fire equipment Kingston Road a Fire Company, for the firefig
